Today, 22.04.2019, in Sofia, in the building of the Head Office of "Bulgarian Posts" EAD, at 11:00 a.m. there was a validation of a block postage stamp on the topic "Akhal-Teke Horse - Pride and Glory of the Turkmen People"
The initiative for the creation of the postage stampis of the Bulgarian Turkmenistan Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BTCIC)Association and Friends of the Akhal-Teke Foundation and is dedicated to the IXth meeting of the International Association of Akhal-Teke Horse Breedingin the Republic of Turkmenistan.The putting into use of a Bulgarian postage stamp on the topic " Akhal-Teke Horse - Pride and Glory of the Turkmen People" is of high public and global significance, promoting the deepening relations between the Republic of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Bulgaria through the symbol of the Akhal-Teke horses, which are the love and the pride of the Turkmen people.
This year, nine years have passed since the establishment of the International Association of Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding. With its creation, Turkmenistan, in the face of the President of the Association, the Leader of the Turkmen people, Mr. Gurbanguly Berdymuhammedov, laid a solid foundation for maintaining the purity of the breed and increasing the population of the Akhal-Teke horses, glorifying them all over the world.Over the past period, numerous associations of Akhal-Teke horses, legal entities and private breeders from different parts of the world have been admitted to this structure, increasing its numbers year after year, reflecting the expanding scope of cooperation.
Bulgarian Turkmenistan Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BTCIC)Association and Friends of the Akhal-Teke Foundation are proud that their Chairman, Mr. Georgi Agaponov, has the honor to be a member of the International Association of of Akhal-Teke Horse Breedingsince the first years of its existence.By initiating the launch and putting into operation of a postage stamp on the topic "Akhal-Teke Horse - Pride and Glory of the Turkmen People", the two organizations aim at promoting around the world of the most iconic symbol in Turkmen culture, the Akhal-Teke horse, thus support and enhance a wider exchanges between the two countries in the fields of culture, education, sport and tourism.
The development of Akhal-Teke horsebreeding in the Republic of Turkmenistan was raised to the rank of priority of state policy.The Akhal-Teke horseis a model of riding horse breed, created and raised on the territory of modern Turkmenistan approximately 5000 years ago. This is the oldest of the cultivated breeds and has affected many others, such as, for example, purebred Arabic and thoroughbred English. They are recognized for some of the most beautiful, fastest and smartest horses on earth. They compare them with the cheetah between the animals and the expensive sports car among the vehicles. It is not accidental that the Akhal-Teke horseshave ridden Genghis Khan, Alexander the Macedonian, Marshal G.K. Zhukov at the Parade of Victory in 1945, and President Vladimir Putin gave the King of Bahrain an Akhal-Teke horse.
For centuries, the Turkmen have paid special attention to the breeding of the sensitive, as the man, the unparalleled in beauty, faster than the wind and loyal to their owners, the Akhal-Teke horses. Many efforts have been made in this regard for breeding, which continues to a very high level today by Turkmen connoisseurs. There is also a large-scale systematic work on the development of equestrian sport.
At present, the Akhal-Teke horses, due to their unique beauty and exceptional qualities, attract the attention of hobbyists and are grown in many countries of the planet. Since the creation of the Association, the number of experts and amateurs around the world wishing to breed "air jumpers" has grown every year. That's why the specialists from the State AgencyTurkmen Atlary ("Turkmen horses"),responsible for the breeding, training and maintenance of Akhal-Teke horses, invite the lovers of the Akhal-Teke breed, as well as horse-breed experts all over the world at the Turkmen Horse Festival. Last year, people from over 50 countries attended the unique celebrations lasting a week. There is also an international trade fair, a scientific conference on horse breeding, sports competitions and beauty and endurance competitions.
The initiative of the Bulgarian Turkmenistan Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BTCIC)Association and Friends of the Akhal-Teke Foundation for the publication of a Bulgarian postage stamp on the topic "Akhal-Teke Horse - Pride and Glory of the Turkmen People" met with great public and state support. An expression of this is also the congratulatory letter from the Chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy and Tourism of the 44th National Assembly, Mr. Petar Kanev, to the Chairman of the two organizations, Mr. Georgi Agafonov, which states:
"The validation of a postage stamp on the "Akhal-Teke Horse - Pride and Glory of the Turkmen People" confirms the development of the better relations between Bulgaria and Turkmenistan. The encouragement of tourism and the exchange of experience in the management of cultural and historical heritage, with which our countries are rich, are subjects to which they have a mutual interest. I am convinced that today's event will give new impetus to establishing closer ties and cooperation in the fields of culture, education, sports and tourism."
